AWARENESS WILL EXPAND WITH THE NEW MEMBER "KARACAN" IN ZERO WASTE

Karatay Municipality carries on its studies to develop the awareness of zero waste from children to adults.  "Karacan", the new member of Karatay, will now participate in the awareness activities that continue all over Karatay.

Karatay Municipality continues its training and activities to prevent waste, to use resources more efficiently, to prevent or minimize waste generation by reviewing the causes of waste generation, and in case the waste occurs, to raise awareness all over the district for the "Zero Waste" project, which includes separate collection at the source and recycling.

THE CUTE MASCOT "KARACAN" MAY APPEAR AT ANY MOMENT

In this context, Karatay Municipality included "Karacan" in its working team to contribute to the Zero Waste project conducted to ensure the recycling of waste all around Turkey. The cute mascot will be the face of Karatay Municipality in Zero Waste all over the district.

“Karacan", the mascot of the Zero Waste Project, will meet with Karatay people from time to time. It will be ensured that “Karacan” participates in the activities and is adopted by the children.

In this context, "Karacan" worked in the field for the first time and distributed a cloth bag and a blue collection/garbage bag with an informative brochure on zero waste, a seed pen, and a pencil sharpener to the citizens of Karatay.

KILCA: "KARACAN" WILL BE OUR NEW FACE IN ZERO WASTE

 Hasan Kılca, the Mayor of Karatay, who stated that they have been continuing to contribute to the Zero Waste Project since 2018, stated that they have carried out many projects to separate and dispose of all kinds of waste after they are collected at the source and to bring them into the economy, and said that with “Karacan”, the new member of the Zero Waste team, awareness will expand even more.

Hasan Kılca, who pointed out that exemplary works have been accomplished in Karatay with the Zero Waste Project, said the following: ““Our target was to transform the Zero Waste project into a living culture rather than a project and create the infrastructure for the sense of protecting the environment. We have taken important steps towards this target. We get support from experts on Zero Waste. We attach importance to everyone's opinion, young and old alike, and evaluate them in our projects. Our mascot "Karacan" was also created in the light of these ideas. Our new face in Zero Waste will be our mascot "Karacan". “Karacan”, who works in the field to contribute to the expansion of the Zero Waste Project throughout Karatay and especially to its adoption by children, attracted attention from day one. We are firm believers that our mascot will contribute to our efforts for a clean environment. We will continue to carry out works that will set an example for Turkey in order to fulfil our duty in the best manner possible to leave a clean Turkey and a liveable world to future generations and to expand the awareness of zero waste from Karatay.
