KILCA: WE ARE DETERMINED TO PUSH OUR DISTRICT OVER THE TOP IN PRODUCING WORKS AND PROJECTS

Hasan Kılca, the Mayor of Karatay, attended the Consultation Meeting of the United Cities and Local Governments -Middle East and West Asia Section  (UCLG-MEWA)  held in Kocaeli. Mayor Hasan Kılca talked about the Voluntary Local Review prepared by Karatay Municipality for the monitoring of UCLG-MEWA Sustainable Development Goals at the local level and the preparation process of that review, in the session titled Leading Cities of Local Reporting in the MEWA Region. Hasan Kılca said, “It is a proud thing to be among the municipalities that have prepared the VLR  for the first time among the district municipalities. We are determined to push our district over the top in municipal works and producing works and projects.

The Mayor of Karatay attended the Consultation Meeting of the United Cities and Local Governments-Middle East and West Asia Section  (UCLG-MEWA).

Mayor Hasan Kılca also made a speech at the meeting which was hosted by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality and attended by online participants.

MAYOR KILCA SPEAKS AT THE UCLG-MEWA CONSULTATION MEETING

Hasan Kılca, who participated as a speaker at the "Leading Cities of Local Reporting in the MEWA Region" session held on the second day of the UCLG-MEWA Consultation Meetings, wished mercy of Allah upon Kadir Topbaş, one of the former Mayors of UCLG and the former Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.

In the session moderated by Seher Alacaci Arıner, the UNDP Deputy Representative for Programs in Turkey, Hasan Kılca, the Mayor of Karatay, referred to the “Voluntary Local Review-VLR” prepared by Karatay Municipality for the monitoring of UCLG-MEWA Sustainable Development Goals at a local level.

WE ARE PROUD TO BE AMONG THE FIRST DISTRICT MUNICIPALITIES TO PREPARE THE VLR REPORT.

Mayor Hasan Kılca, who emphasized that Karatay Municipality is among the district municipalities in Turkey to prepare the aforementioned report for the first time, said that it filled them with pride, and said the following about the report they prepared and its details; Being aware of the importance of sustainable development and the benefits it will provide to our district and all humanity, UCLG MEWA officials provided training to our staff on Voluntary Local Review preparation so that we can take action as soon as possible. As a result of long efforts, works, and endeavors, we, the Karatay Municipality, are now proud to be among the first three district municipalities to prepare the VLR Report in Turkey. We have prepared our review in Turkish and English, thereby the review will meet the world under the leadership of our municipality. It is also your pride and joy for us to see that our review, which we have prepared with our national and international stakeholders, is also compatible with the sustainable development goals of our current activities. Once again, I am pleased to say that the work we did for our Karatay so far also contributes to our international goals.”

Hasan Kılca, said the following by emphasizing that every project and investment they will make as Karatay Municipality will lead them to the determined global targets, “We will shape the actions and policies which we will develop due to the picture that emerges with our Voluntary Local Review. We will continue to serve our district and our fellow citizens not with ideological approaches, but with a work policy in every field from infrastructure to the superstructure, from transportation to renewable energy, from smart cities to green technologies.

We are determined to crown and push our Karatay over the top, in municipal works, in producing works and projects.”
