LAVENDER GARDEN PROMISES A VISUAL FEAST THIS YEAR

Karatay Lavender Garden, which has become one of the most popular places in the city after it was brought to Konya by Karatay Municipality in 2019, was opened to visitors. The Lavender Garden, which attracted great attention and was flooded by visitors last year, promises a visual feast to its visitors this year as well.

Karatay Lavender Garden, built by Karatay Municipality in Karaaslan Üzümcü Neighborhood in 2019, was prepared as a result of the hard work carried out by the teams of the Karatay Municipality Parks and Gardens Directorate, and the garden opened its doors to its visitors.

Karatay Lavender Garden, which was visited by tens of thousands of citizens last year when it was open for a short time, is expected to be flooded by visitors this year. Citizens who visit the Lavender Garden, which has been attracting great attention since its first day of opening, take pictures as they wish at many points such as the swing placed among the lavenders, the nostalgic mini tractor, bridges, straw bales, water wells, view terraces, and walking trails.

Citizens resting at the buffet built by Karatay Municipality in the Karatay Lavender Garden have the opportunity to taste the Lavender ice cream and soda pop served to them.

CITIZENS ADMIRED THE LAVENDER GARDEN OF KARATAY

The visitors, who say that they are amazed by the smell and unique colors that Karatay Lavender Garden spreads around, thanked the Karatay Municipality for bringing the garden to Karatay.

Emre Arslan, who was preparing for the wedding, said that he came to Karatay Lavender Garden for the first time and that they liked everything. Arslan said, “We are preparing for the wedding and chose this place for the outdoor shooting before the wedding. Previously, we were planning to go out of town for shooting, but when we heard that Karatay Municipality had such a garden, we came here. Everything is very nice, and we liked it very much. This project was something that needed to be built here. I would like to thank everyone who contributed".

Ali Taşbaş also stated that he came with his family since he heard about the opening of the Karatay Lavender Garden. Taşbaş said: “We walked around the garden with my family and took pictures. It is very nice, and we liked it very much. People come here to let out steam in a way. I would like to thank  Mr. Hasan Kılca,  Mayor of Karatay, who contributed."

While 10-year-old Zilay Kılıçarslan expressed that she liked the Karatay Lavender Garden very much and said, “This place is very beautiful. We took lots of photos. We smelled the lavender. It was a very nice trip for me”., 14-year-old İbrahim Ethem Taşbaş, noted that they liked the Karatay Lavender Garden very much and that they tasted the ice cream and soda pop produced from Lavender."

MAYOR HASAN KILCA INVITED ALL CITIZENS OF KONYA TO KARATAY LAVENDER GARDEN

Hasan Kılca, the Mayor of Karatay, stated that they have completed the necessary preparations and opened the Karatay Lavender Garden to visitors and said that they are waiting for everyone to the Lavender Garden

MayorHasan Kılca said; “We built our Karatay Lavender Garden in 2019 and opened it to our fellow citizens last year. We have completed all our preparations for our garden, which has attracted great attention and taken its place among the new favorite places of our city, this summer, and our citizens have started to visit our garden. Our guests can take pictures of many decorative objects and points we placed in our garden at will. Our citizens can also taste the ice cream and soda pop produced from Lavender in the rest area we have created in our garden. I invite all my citizens who want to breathe the air and smell the unique scent of Lavender here to our Karatay Lavender Garden.
