The official opening of Saracoğlu Trap-Skeet Shooting Range Social Facility, which was completed by Karatay Municipality, was held. Karatay Mayor Hasan Kılca, who emphasized that the facility, which started to serve the city with an investment of 10 million liras, will make significant contributions to the sports of Konya and the country, said; “We want to announce the name of our city on many more platforms. Our Biggest Gain is the Prayer of Our Citizens and the Excitement to add the New Service Chains that Improve Their Quality of Life”. While, İbrahim Uğur Altay, the Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, who emphasized that Karatay Municipality has made significant investments in Saracoğlu, especially in recent years, said; “Saracoğlu has become a new attraction center of Konya”; Ahmet Pekyatırmacı, the Mayor of Selçuklu, defined the Saracoğlu Trap-Skeet Shooting Range Social Facility as an investment that will contribute to the development of Konya. Abdürrahman Şahin, the Konya Provincial Director of Youth and Sports, stated that Karatay Municipality makes up an important deficiency with this investment.

The official opening of the Saracoğlu Trap-Skeet Shooting Range Social Facility, completed by Karatay Municipality, was held with a ceremony.

The Saracoğlu Trap-Skeet Shooting Range Social Facility, costing  10 million liras in total with the environmental regulations, was built at the Shooting Field of the Youth and Sports Directorate in the Saraçoğlu Neighbourhood.

There are trainer rooms, meeting rooms, training rooms, and a multi-purpose hall in the facility, consisting of three sections, the basement, the ground floor, and the 1st floor. The facility, where environmental planning is also made, also has a parking lot for 24 vehicles.

Speaking at the official opening ceremony for the facility, Hasan Kılca, the Mayor of Karatay, underlined that as a municipality, they continue to work with might and main to carry Karatay forward in every respect.

Mayor Hasan Kılca, who emphasized that the biggest gain as a result of their efforts is the prayer of the citizens and the excitement to add the new service chains that improve their quality of life said "Today, we are together at another opening, which is another reflection of our enthusiasm and love of service. Trap-Skeet Shooting Range in our Saraçoğlu Neighborhood has been hosting national and international organizations for a long time. We, the Karatay Municipality, have brought a social facility here so that this range can serve the sports in our city and our country much better, and as of today, we are officially unveiling our facility. Our facility, which cost 10 million liras with landscaping, consists of a total of three sections: the basement, the ground floor, and the 1st floor. Our facility, which includes the trainer and meeting rooms and a multi-purpose hall, also has a parking area for 24 vehicles. I wish our facility, which was built considering the comfort of our athletes and trainers, all the best.”

WE WANT TO REPRESENT OUR KARATAY IN ALL FIELDS IN THE BEST WAY

Hasan Kılca who reminded that Saraçoğlu Trap-Skeet Shooting Range and Sports Facility has hosted many successful organizations up to date said that the '5 Islamic Solidarity Games' held in our city between 9 and 18 August were important and continued his words as follows; “This facility was used in the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games held in our city between August 9 and 18 this year. In this important organization, which was successfully completed on behalf of our city, we hosted our athletes and technical team sweated at our facilities. It was exactly our goal, in other words, our goal was to represent our Konya and Karatay more widely, in sports, culture, art, social areas, and many other platforms. We have achieved this too.

Our Metropolitan Mayor, his team, our organizations, our council members, our headmen, and our colleagues all have contributed to this achievement, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank each of them individually. I want to give you one more piece of good news. I hope next year the International Trap and Skeet Competition will also be held here. We are in a valuable endeavour together with our state, government, governorship, metropolitan municipality, and district municipalities so that our city and districts can reach much better levels in sports. The social facility we have officially opened today is an example of this. We have handed over our social facility to our youth and sports directorate in order to serve our athletes and trainers. I wish our Karatay and Konya all the best with this facility”.

THE REGION HAS BECOME AN ATTRACTION CENTER WITH OUR NEW INVESTMENTS AND PROJECTS

Kılca, who stated that Saraçoğlu and its surrpoundings have become a new attraction center, said; “The 60 thousand square meter area just behind us was full of rubble, we cleared this area and planted it. We cleared and afforested the area of ​​100 thousand square meters allocated to our Saraçoğlu Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports last year. We have greened an area of ​​340 thousand square meters in total right next to us and we have realized our Karatay Lavender Garden project. In the area adjacent to our Lavender Garden, the first stage is 110 thousand square meters, our Karaaslan second stage hobby garden is 90 thousand square meters, and also our Saraçoğlu hobby garden serves our citizens with an area of ​​​​150 thousand square meters. As of last week, we started to lay out our Karatay Rose Garden in an area of ​​15 thousand square meters. In other words, we had a lot of work in this one million square meter area. Apart from these, we have a planned natural life park.  Our project is about to be completed in an area of ​​600 thousand square meters, and we will start its construction in the coming days. We started Pehlivanlar Avenue and Kamil Yaylalar Avenue last year and completed them this year. We have a big avenue that connects Bezmialem Avenue to Karaman Avenue, its name is Bilişim Avenue. We also started the opening of this street. We aim to complete the avenue that connects our City Hospital to Karaman road soon.”

OUR KARATAY MUNICIPALITY MAKES UP AN IMPORTANT DEFICIENCY

Abdürrahman Şahin, the Konya Provincial Director of Youth and Sports, thanked Karatay Mayor Hasan Kılca for his support to sports and youth and stated that the only deficiency of Saraçoğlu Sports Facilities was the lack of social facilities and said that Karatay Municipality has made up this deficiency.

Abdürrahim Şahin emphasized that Konya trains exemplary athletes in sports, and said that their aim is to achieve much more important achievements in this field continued as follows: “We believe that Olympic champions will be acquired from Saraçoğlu Sports Facilities. These facilities have the most beautiful shooting range in Turkey. It is a facility where competitions are held in the Bocce branch with archery, traditional archery,  field hockey, athletics track, and one natural and two synthetic turf football fields. This facility,  the best shooting range in our country, had only one deficiency, and that was the social facility building. When I told the Mayor of Karatay about this need, he instructed the construction of this facility without a second thought. In a very short time, this excellent facility, you see, has been put at the disposal of our athletes and our city. We promise that we will make great efforts to acquire world and Olympic champions from these facilities. In the process of preparing our one million square meter facility for the games, our Konya Metropolitan Municipality and Karatay Municipality made great contributions to many works and processes, including landscaping, asphalting roads, grassing, maintenance and repair.  I also thank you for that. Our Karatay Municipality is not only limited to this facility but also leads youth activities with numerous youth and sports facilities in Karatay. They continue to contribute and support Konya to be a brand city in sports as well. I would like to thank our Mayor of Karatay and his team”.

IN OCTOBER 2023, THE INTERNATIONAL TRAP AND SKEET COMPTETITION WILL BE HELD HERE

Burcu Soysal, the Secretary General of the Turkish Hunting and Shooting Federation congratulated the Saracoğlu Trap-Skeet Shooting Range Social Facility, brought to the city by the Karatay Municipality, and emphasized that the facility will pave the way for many organizations. Burcu Soysal said the following; “This location has gained a new vision through the social facility building completed by Karatay Municipality. A Grand Prix was held here before the 5th Islamic Games. International federation officials examined this place and appreciated the facility very much. In October 2023, a Grand Prix, namely the International Trap and Skeet Competition, will be held at these facilities again. After that, we are intending to win a world cup, and we are still working on it. I want to thank our Karatay Municipality for the facility.”

AN INVESTMENT CONTRIBUTING TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF OUR CITY

Ahmet Pekyatırmacı, the Mayor of Selçuklu, stated that as Konya municipalities, they performed work in all areas from sports to culture, from infrastructure to superstructure,  and thanked the Mayor of Karatay, Hasan Kılca, who brought the facility to Konya.

Mayor Ahmet Pekyatımcı stated the following; “This facility is important to us. We host important organizations both in the national and international arena due to such beautiful facilities. These organizations contribute to the development of our city economically, socially, and culturally. Our shooting range will host much better and more qualified organizations in the future together with the social facility constructed. Our Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports has made great contributions since the first construction processes of the shooting range. They also carry out important work in the execution of the activities here. I wish our Karatay and Konya all the best with this facility".

SARAÇOĞLU AND ITS SURROUNDINGS BECAME KONYA'S NEW ATTRACTION CENTER

Uğur İbrahim Altay, the Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, also stated that Konya has added sports to its brand value and underlined that they have reached the level to organize Olympic Games with the facilities brought to the city.

Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that Saraçoğlu and its surroundings have become a new attraction center with the Trap-Skeet Shooting Range Social Facility and many more investments, and used the following statements; “This region is becoming the new attraction center of Konya. While the things done especially about the Karatay Lavender Garden have turned into an important process not only for our Karatay but also for the whole of Turkey, Karatay Lavender has thus become an important brand. In this region, we are working with our Karatay Municipality on a project that will set an example for all of Turkey. We host an international competition here almost every week. While Konya was a city of agriculture, industry, and students, it has now turned into a sports city with recent developments.  The presence of our facilities and our organizational ability play a crucial role in the success of our city. The facilities especially built for the Islamic Solidarity Games have covered up our deficiencies, and we have almost reached the level of the city that will organize the Olympic Games. Together, we will make an effort to make Konya the capital of sports as well. I would like to thank our Mayor of Karatay, Hasan Kılca, both for this facility, for the work he has carried out in the region, and for the value, he has added to our Karatay. I hope our Konya will see much better days together with all our district municipalities”.

After the protocol speeches, Burcu Soysal, the Secretary General of the Turkish Hunting and Shooting Federation presented a plaque of appreciation to the Mayor of Karatay, Hasan Kılca, for his contribution to the federation with the sports branch of Hunting and Shooting. The official opening of the Trap-Skeet Shooting Range Social Facility, added to the Sports Facilities in the Saracoğlu Neighborhood by Karatay Municipality, was held after the prayers.
