SOCIAL SUPPORT OF 10 MILLION TL FOR 22 THOUSAND CITIZENS

Acting with the understanding of social municipalism, Karatay Municipality reached approximately 10 thousand citizens in the district during 2022 and provided a total of 22 million TL of social support. Karatay Mayor Hasan Kılca said; “We are a big Karatay family" as part of the understanding of who needs what in our district we are with. We have taken great care to ensure this with all our support in 2022, which we are preparing to leave behind,”.

Acting with the understanding of ”Social Municipalism", Karatay Municipality extended a helping hand to all citizens in need, who are living in the district in 2022, as it has been until now, and continued to make them smile.

Within the framework of these activities carried out by Karatay Municipality Social Support Services Directorate, projects are produced for many groups throughout the district and contribute to the social life of citizens.

IN 2022, APPROXIMATELY 10 THOUSAND CITIZENS WERE PROVIDED WITH 22 MILLION TL OF SOCIAL SUPPORT

As in the past, the teams of the directorate extended a helping hand to those in need throughout the year with projects such as soup kitchen activities, cash assistance, Karatay Compassion Houses, food aid, Military Family Salary, "Social Card" application, "Welcome Baby" and many other projects in the field of social services. Karatay Municipality reached out to 10 thousand citizens living in the district for all projects and supports in the field of social services throughout the year 2022 and contributed 22 million liras in this context.

SOUP KITCHEN PROVIDES HOT FOOD SUPPORT TO DOZENS OF FAMILIES

Karatay Municipality does not forget the citizens who cannot leave their homes and cannot cook. In 2022, meals prepared in a hygienic environment for 380 people in 170 families were delivered to their homes for two meals.

KARATAY MUNICIPALITY STANDS BY CITIZENS WITH "SOCIAL CARD"

With the activities carried out by the Directorate of Social Support Services, cash aid was provided to citizens in need who resided in Karatay in 2022 and who did not have any income and were found to be in financial difficulties. 3 Thousand people benefited from the “Social Card” project offered by Karatay Municipality to citizens in need. Thanks to this project carried out in cooperation with Konya Metropolitan Municipality, citizens in need were able to shop from the nearest supermarket to their homes as they wished.

IN 2022, IT ALSO PROVIDED MILITARY SALARY SUPPORT TO MILITARY FAMILIES

Karatay Municipality did not forget the Turkish soldiers and their families who went to military service to do their patriotic duties in 2022, as they have done so far. In this context, if the military personnel are married, their spouses, and if they are single, their mothers were given a salary of 600 TL every month for 6 months.

Karatay Municipality, which supported a total of 1 million 87 thousand TL to families in 2022 within the scope of soldier salary support, has contributed to the relief of both the soldier and his family to some extent.

Karatay Municipality also continues to provide food package support to needy families. The Social Services Directorate supports the citizen by identifying families in need of help. In 2022, packs amounting to 420 thousand TL containing all the needs of a house's kitchen were distributed to 385 families in need and contributed to the tables of families.

KARATAY HOUSES OF COMPASSION CONTINUE TO BE THE SHELTER OF THE ORPHANS

Karatay Municipality continues to embrace citizens who have no income, who have a housing shortage and who are orphans or widows in need with the Karatay Municipality Compassion Homes project, which consists of a total of 96 apartments.

The citizens in question, who are being investigated by the Social Support Services Directorate, are provided with their relatives to live in Compassion Homes without paying rent and fuel until the family improves its financial situation. In 2022, 385 citizens in 95 families have benefited from this project.

WELCOME BABY

Another project of Karatay Municipality that is highly appreciated by the citizens is the “Welcome Baby Project.” The project covers all babies born throughout the district. The baby care bag, which contains all the materials that newborn babies may need such as towels, baby shampoo and soap, mother's wallet and baby blanket, is delivered to the families by Karatay Municipality Social Services Support Directorate. Within the scope of this project, gifts amounting to a total of 1 million 384 thousand 500 TL were presented to 3 thousand 555 families in 2022.
