KARATAY MUNICIPALITY INTRODUCED THE ”35 THOUSAND BOOK SUPPORT" PROJECT

KILCA: WE WILL CONTINUE TO SERVE OUR GENERATIONS GROWING UP BY READING

Karatay Municipality, which has contributed to the academic life of the district as well as to the better education of children and young people of educational age in Karatay until today, has added a new one to its investments in this context. Karatay Municipality provided 35 thousand book support to all schools in the district. Speaking at the introductory program organized for the project in question, Karatay Mayor Hasan Kılca said; “Since 2019, we have provided 415 thousand 154 books and magazines to our schools and our children of educational age. Today, we are bringing 35 thousand more books together with our children. Thus, we reached a total of 450 thousand. We will continue to serve the generations who develop and grow by reading,”.

In addition to its physical investments in education, Karatay Municipality, which makes an important contribution to the education of future generations with many projects, continues to increase its support for education. In this context, Karatay Municipality provided book support to all schools in the district.

Within the scope of the project, which aims to bring students together with many more books, 35 thousand book support was provided to all schools in Karatay. An introductory program was organized at the Karatay Youth Center for this support.

MAYOR HASAN KILCA EXPLAINED THE EDUCATIONAL INVESTMENTS

Karatay Mayor Hasan Kılca stated that they give unlimited support to education as a municipality in his speech at the program.

Mayor Hasan Kılca said; “Since 2019, we have provided bag and stationery support to 35 thousand of our puppies who started the first grade of primary school in our district. We have realized a first in Turkey and established TÜBİTAK Popular Science Publications Library in all our schools in our district; we have placed tens of thousands of TÜBİTAK publications in our libraries. We built 30 new artificial turf fields in accordance with FIFA norms in 30 schools with suitable areas. We built 6 education facilities. In order to spread sports to the grassroots, we organized football tournaments with the theme of friendship and brotherhood in our schools. Our “Zero Waste Theater” project, which was initiated under the organization of our City Council and covers all primary schools in our district, is also continuing. Within the scope of the project, 24 thousand of our students have learned about zero waste through theater and have added it to their lives so far. By taking care of our national, spiritual and religious values, we gave “Ramadan Saddlebags” to 40 thousand children in the month of Ramadan. We plan to continue this project, which has many more surprises besides its entertaining, informative and instructive contents, in the coming periods. Again, within the scope of the "Let's Go to the Cinema" project carried out by our City Council, 17 thousand students studying in our district enjoyed the cinema.  In our Traffic Education Park, which we established in Ulubatlı Hasan Park, we are providing trainings to 6,800 primary school 4th grade students in order to create traffic awareness with the valuable support of our national education directorate, police and gendarmerie in this academic year.  We have also come to the end in the construction of our second Traffic Training Park, which we will implement in our Olympic Park.  We have also completed the construction of our Nature School, which will contribute to the education and love of nature of our children. We are hopefully realizing our project next semester. We have a project “Children Who Write History in Karatay” that we have started in recent months. With this project, to which we attach great importance, our 15 thousand 3rd and 4th grade students who have been educated in our district so far have had the opportunity to get to know their ancestors both through theater and by reading books. We have started the Robokaratay project and have established robotic coding workshops in 11 of our schools so far. We will continue to establish these workshops in all our secondary schools with appropriate space. Again, within the scope of this project, we held our first robot competition at the end of last semester.  On the one hand, we provided YKS registration fee support to the students who took the university exam; on the other hand, we provided 1000 liras cash support to all our young people who reside in our district and won any university of our country for the first time this year,”he said.

WE HAVE PROVIDED MORE THAN 450 THOUSAND BOOK AND MAGAZINE SUPPORT TO THE EDUCATION OF OUR DISTRICT

Hasan Kılca mentioned the “35 Thousand Book Support for Education” Project and stated that they reflected Karatay's vision on the field with the supports they gave to education.

Kılca concluded his words as follows; “For the last two years, we have been delivering TÜBİTAK Science and Technology, Science Child and Curious Little magazines to all registered students in order to contribute to the love of science and the discovery abilities of our children and young people. Within the framework of this project, we have delivered 311 thousand magazines to our young people, who are our future, for free in the last two years, and we continue to deliver them. As the Municipality of Karatay, the total number of books and magazines we have distributed since 2019 within the framework of many projects we have developed for our children who continue their educational life in our district is 415 thousand 154. Today, we are bringing 35 thousand more books together with our children. Thus, we have reached the figure of 450 thousand books and magazines. We will continue our services with the happiness, excitement and pride of serving generations that develop and grow by reading."

THIS SUPPORT IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR OUR STUDENTS AT ALL LEVELS AT KARATAY

Speaking about the importance of Karatay Municipality's 35 Thousand Book Support, Konya Provincial Director of National Education Murat Yiğit also stated that the project in question will contribute to increasing the academic quality of the district.

Murat Yiğit said; “One of the biggest supporters of education and training activities in Konya is local governments. Both our Metropolitan Municipality and our district municipalities take a great responsibility in this regard and implement valuable services from each other. Today, Karatay Municipality provides a total of 35 thousand more book support for primary, secondary and high school groups. This service, which is a great opportunity for our students at all levels in Karatay, will also contribute to the academic quality of the district. Beyond this service, which is very valuable and meaningful, the educational investments made in Karatay under the leadership of Hasan Kılca are above all appreciation. With these feelings and thoughts, I would like to thank our Mayor of Karatay, Mr. Hasan Kılca and his team very much on the occasion of all the contributions to education, especially the support of 35 thousand books,”.

THE 35 THOUSAND BOOK PROJECT IS A GOOD PROOF OF THE SUPPORT OUR MUNICIPALITY GIVES TO EDUCATION

Karatay District Governor Yavuz Güner thanked Karatay Municipality for the support it gave to education and wished that the 35 Thousand Book Project would be beneficial to the district.

District Governor Yavuz Güner said the following; "We are also happy because of all these supports given to education in Karatay. These projects are really both beautiful and numerous. There is not only one but more than one project that Karatay Municipality has started and continued before. With the 35 Thousand Book Project, it is also a good proof of the support that our municipality gives to education. I would like to thank our Karatay Municipality, our Mayor, our Provincial Directorate of National Education, our District directorate of national education and everyone who contributed to the 35 thousand book project in the first place.”
