EMOTIONAL LETTERS AND GIFTS FROM LITTLE HEARTS TO EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS

There is a hard effort at the Aid Collection Center, which was established at the Konya Sports and Congress Center in Karatay under the coordination of the Konya Governorship, AFAD, and municipalities after the two large earthquakes that shook the whole of Turkey. The aid collected within the scope of the campaign was loaded onto 48 trucks and sent to the region. The people of Konya, who flooded into the center, are making great devotion and self-sacrifice to meet the needs of the earthquake victims. Some sent their penny bank, some sweets and chocolates they collected during the Şivlilik, and some favorite toys to the earthquake zone. The letters and notes in the aid boxes prepared by the people of Konya for the earthquake victims greatly impressed the readers.

Disaster relief materials are sent to the disaster area from all over the country, after the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş, which influenced many regions of Turkey.

As in all parts of Konya, there is also hard work in the Aid Collection Center established at the Konya Sports and Congress Center in Karatay. Citizens also struggle for meeting the aid materials needed by the region.

48 trucks containing the disaster relief materials collected with the support of thousands of citizens were delivered to the region thanks to the efforts of public institutions and organizations, Konya Governorship, Konya Metropolitan Municipality, Karatay Municipality, and AFAD Konya Provincial Directorate,

In this context, 10950 boxes of food and baby food, 11700 boxes of cleaning materials and diapers, 522 boxes of medicines, 21870 packages of dry legumes, 2300 heaters, 46000 coats, gloves, and berets, 13000 pairs of shoes and boots, 145.000 bottles of water were delivered on the region through trucks.

IMPORTANT CALL FOR HELP FROM THE MAYOR HASAN KILCA

 Hasan Kılca, the Mayor of Karatay, issued an important call for citizens who want to help earthquake victims with his statement.

Mayor Hasan Kılca said; “Dear fellow citizens, I would have an important request from you. In addition to the cash aid to earthquake regions, it is also extremely important to deliver the disaster relief materials, the priority of the region and only those determined only by AFAD, to the relevant places. I would like to express my gratitude to all our fellow citizens who acted with great devotion in this regard.”

KARATAY PUBLIC BREAD FACTORY DELIVERED 450.000 BREAD TO THE EARTHQUAKE ZONE

On the other hand, Karatay Public Bread Factory, which sent 100.000 pieces of bread, including gluten-free bread, to Hatay on the first day of the earthquake, started to direct all its bread production capacity to the disaster area on a 24/7 basis. In this context, 450.000 pieces of bread have been delivered to the earthquake zone so far.

KARATAY MUNICIPALITY CONTINUES TO CONTRIBUTE TO DRESSING WOUNDS

With the instruction of Hasan Kılca, Karatay Municipality, sent 138 municipality employees with a total of 19 vehicles, including containers, tow trucks, fresh water vehicles, generators, as well as rescue and mobile vehicles, to Hatay, and also lastly sent three pieces of the garbage truck at the end.

EMOTIONAL GIFTS AND LETTERS TO EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS

The municipality staff and volunteer citizens, who took part in the classification and packaging of the aid materials coming to the center, also experienced emotional moments from time to time. Some of them put their piggy bank, some candies, and chocolates, and some put their favorite toy in the sent aid boxes. Citizens who put letters and notes in these special gift packages sent to the earthquake region touched everyone who read it.

MINOR BENEFACTOR SENDS HER PENNY BANK TO EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS

10-year-old Hatice Ilay, who lives in Konya, also put her penny bank in which she saved money in the aid box prepared by her family. The little benefactor, who also wrote a letter with a Turkish flag on the parcel, included the following said the followings in her letter;

“Hello,

My name is Hatice İlay. I am 10 years old. I feel sorry for you. I am afraid like you. We rocked yesterday too, but not like you. If you want, you can come to Konya. We always have room for you. Also, there are few earthquakes here. We are collecting donations for you with my father or some relatives. As I said, you can always come to Konya. Bye…”

THEY DONATED THEIR CANDY AND CHOCOLATES TO THE CHILDREN IN THE DISASTER AREA

The gifts that affected the volunteers and staff at the Aid Collection Center established at the Konya Sports and Congress Center in Karatay were not limited to this.

Other little hearts, who stated in their notes that they were "Akyıldız Brothers", sent their sweets and chocolates to their peers in the disaster area. In the note they put in the package they prepared, it was written; “Assalamlaikum, get well soon my sisters and brothers. May God heal you. We love you very much. wish you a quick recovery soon. Akyıldız Brothers…” In another note placed inside the aid boxes, the following was written; “My dear brothers and sisters, May Allah help you. Our prayers are always with you. Believe me, we are as sad and helpless as you are. Hopefully, we will go through tough times together. Greetings from Konya. Ayşe Bağcı…”
